The Montana Western Heritage Project book is now available for purchase through Montana State University Extension

Montana 4-H, the Montana 4-H Foundation, and Montana State University Extension are excited to introduce the availability of the Montana Western Heritage Project book. Myths, legends and Hollywood have shaped our perspective of the American frontier so much so that an accurate picture of the Old West is hard to find. Throughout this book, the history of the American West comes to life through amazing full-color photographs of original artifacts from museums across Montana and the western United States. With a broad overview of firearms, gunleather, cowboy gear and clothing available to settlers of the West, this book is an excellent guide for anyone interested in frontier authenticity -- from teachers to history buffs and reenactors to cowboy shooters.

The Montana Western Heritage Project book is currently available in a softcover edition for only $25, with a hardcover edition expected mid-January for $45. A leather dustcover version will also be available, which can be engraved with a personalized message for $99. Books can be ordered online at: www.msuextension.org/store

All proceeds from the sale of the book support the Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Program, where tomorrow's leaders are taught to ride, shoot straight and tell the truth.
